Variety is the spice of life!

20110525-035707.jpgI like to try new foods. I get bored easily. So I often visit grocery stores out of my area when I can. It may be the same type of food but a new brand. It can taste different. Today I went to Whole Foods. I know whole paycheck. I couldn’t shop here on a regular basis but its nice to once in a while. I live in California and the stores are nice but not as nice as the ones in Vegas. I’ve been a little spoiled. Siggi’s yogurt is absolutely the best! It was on sale today. It’s not greek yogurt but taste even better . Its Icelandic yogurt. The orange ginger has  tiny bits of fresh ginger. MMM! I haven’t tried the kale chips but they look interesting. I love the cheese samples. My daughter won’t go near that department. She says it smells like a thousand stinky feet. She was in school. No problem for me. You can eat lunch there, so I had brown rice spicy salmon sushi.  All in all it was a  fun trip. Now off to try tilapia with fresh fennel for dinner.

Boredom makes me eat!!

Boredom makes me eat! This has not been a great weekend for me eating healthy. Date night , take out ,then a way to long kids birthday party. Not to mention I didn’t work out because I worked as well as did  all these activities. I only planned to snack at the birthday party but this isn’t your average kids party. It was at the country club. They have good fancy food. Tortolini, prosciutto, sliders,red velvet cake. I was doing good but these dang waiters kept coming by. Then as the party dragged on and my child didn’t want to leave I started grazing. I can only smooze so much. I was not hungry. Just bored. It was a doctors party. I can only talk about work and kids so much. Then I walked around and ran into the country club bar. Wine was calling my name. I guess I deserve a weekend off. I will not feel guilty. I started right back on track at dinner. None of that, I already blew it crap! One good thing I noticed that my jeans are getting loose. All but the belly. That’s always the last to go.I  will have slip ups but I’m going to lose weight and keep it off.

Bring it Outside

Don’t get stuck in a rut! Bring your workout outside. Make it portable. It will keep you motivated. Do it in your backyard, on the front porch , at the playground with your kids! Like Nike says. Just do it!
